Lead Researcher
Human Performance Laboratory
Since Fall 2012, I have been a member of the Human Performance Laboratory and helped other members analyze movements of children with cerebral palsy using high-speed motion capture systems, force and pressure platforms, depth sensing cameras, and associated computer software. Its members include faculty, PhD students, and MSOT students. I am mentored by Dr. Jack Engsberg, PhD.
For my own project, I am developing a virtual reality intervention that incorporates components of CO-OP and addresses the performance difficulties for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. I will present a poster at this year's AOTA Conference about it.

Parenting with a Physical Disability: Assessing the Need for Early OT Intervention and Group Support
Under the direction of Dr. Carla Walker, the project aims to identify the health needs among parents and expectant parents with physical disabilities in the St. Louis area. The results will be disseminated in order to improve agency support and establish safe and effective clinical OT services. I transcribed focus groups of parents and professionals.

Sensory Experiences Project
This multi-study project examines the development, functional impact, and cause of various sensory features in children with autism, developmental delay, and/or typical development, ages 2-12 years. I was a volunteer researcher for 11 months in 2010 and 2011. I primarily assisted with collecting in-home video recordings to determine the environmental contexts that elicit specific sensory experiences and their impact on children and family functioning in daily life.
